For PhD Students
I supervise PhD students in applied linguistics either from China or other countries. The international applicants are suggested obtaining funding either from their own countries or from the Chinese government.
If you are interested in PhD research under my supervision, please send me your
(1) Research proposal (2000 words), stating clearly the research background, comments on the literature, research design and your possible theoretical or practical contributions.
(2) Publications. I focus on the quality of the publications no matter whether they were published on SSCI/CSSCI/key journals or not.
(3) CV
Currently my university has annual assessments of the PhD supervisors' qualifications in Nov or Dec every year. The information of PhD enrollment will appear in Jan the next year. Please do keep your eye on the latest progress.
For PhD students, I require they have three to four-year FULL time study at NENU. Their official personal documentary files should be transfered to the HR, NENU. They should master SPSS, AMOS/LISERL and literature management software (noteexpress/endnote/ mendley,/notefirst/zotero/reference manager). They are expected to be skillful in operationalizing WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT and PDF. Please read my requriements_for_perspective_phd_students.pdf for details.

For MA Students
Welcome MA students in full-time English education programmes, and full-time applied linguistics programmes to join my research group. I can supervise six students in these programmes in total every year. The early bird catches the worm, so please contact me as early as possible. Please send me emails with your CV, BA thesis and plan for the MA study.
Every year, I will consider accepting some part-time MA students involved themselves in the Free Normal Education MA Programme, and In-service English Teacher MA Programme. The maximum number of students I can supervise of each programme is six.

MA Thesis (2015--)
I began my MA supervision in 2013 at NENU. Up till now (Feb, 2017), around 20 MA students have successfully obtained their MA degrees and went to work in the primary or secondary schools all around the country. Miss. Zhang Zhenxia (BA in Russian, MA in English education) and Miss. Zhang JIngchao won the awards of Excellent MA Thesis by the Education Department of Jilin Province in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
